GENEALOGY RESEARCH
If you are interested in finding information about a family member. You have reason to believe that they were a member of the order. We need information from you to proceed with finding information for you. We need the individuals' Full Name, Date of Birth and Date of Death, Location where they lived, lodge name & number, and the years that they lived at that location. Other resources you can use to find some of the information are up until around 2000 they used to list the meeting date & time in the local papers so you can check there to see if the meetings were listed for the community they lived in. Pictures in the local papers on activities are another way. Whatever you found that makes you think they were an Odd Fellow, Rebekah, Patriarch Militant, Canton, Department Council, or Rebekah please upload a picture of it. You may find a dues card or piece of jewelry that they had, a tie or tie clip lots of things that could mean they were in the order. Help us to help you.
Each part of the order has its own records. So you need to fill out the form for the part of the order that you are interested in. If you fill out the correct form it will go to the correct contact person for the order. Example. The Odd Fellows will go to the Grand Lodge Office, The Rebekah Assembly will go to the Assembly Office, The Encampment will go to the Encampment Office and the Department Council questions will go to the Department Council. So it is important to know which Branch of the Order you are looking for. You must be an Odd Fellow or Rebekah to belong to the other branches. So that would be where you start. Women would have been Rebekahs and Men would have been Odd Fellows before 2000 when they passed legislation that the women could join the Odd Fellows. The men always had the option to join the Rebekahs from the beginning.
